The first time I watched Call the Midwife, I strongly disliked Jane. The second time around, some 5 or 6 years later, I really enjoyed her character as a contrast against the overwhelmingly flashy and bold midwives. Maybe it's because I am more in touch with my own anxiety, but I also think I miss the more nuanced characters of the earlier seasons.
